Got A Second? A Friend Needs Your Help!

Hi, everybody! Happy weekend!

A couple years back, I entered a design contest in the St. Louis area called "Living Space of the Year" and I won!

If you've been a reader for awhile you may recall my total shock & excitement! That win helped land our home in a feature spread at St. Louis At Home magazine as well as an 8 page spread in Decorating Shortcuts magazine, plus a double appearance on The Nate Berkus Show!

That time in our lives was such a whirlwind and I have great memories of those experiences.

Through it all, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with one of the judges of the "Living Space of  the Year," Dana King.  She was a designer in the St. Louis area and we became quick design buddies, emailing each other and keeping up with the latest in interiors.  She was/is always so thoughtful to include me on St. Louis events and share videos of our home on her vlog! She was one of my biggest supporters so I am honored to be able to support her in her latest endeavor!

She, my friends, has started a DesignHop group that is an awesome idea! It basically involves getting a group of women together for an evening and making over a room with the help of everyone's ideas, handiwork, and Pinterest-like ideas!

Dana and her team have worked tirelessly to make this DesignHop a success and now she is pitching the idea to a TV network.  How cool is that?!

She would love it if you would watch the pitch here [it's a short video--under 2 1/2 minutes!] and then leave a comment on this post or in my comments about what you think and/or advice to make it even better!

Take a look:

Don't you want to start a DesignHop group in your circle of friends now? How fun would that be?

I am sending my biggest good luck vibes and prayers to Dana and her team! Knock 'em dead, ladies!

'At Home' Nod

I was tickled pink to find out that Christy Marshall, the editor of St. Louis At Home magazine, took a few minutes out of her time on Great Day St. Louis to talk with Matt Chambers about me!

I got a facebook message from my sister-in-law alerting me to the segment and I smiled from ear to ear listening to their sweet comments.

I honestly can't wait to show you guys the magazine cover! If you're in the StL area, I know the magazine is being sold at Border's, Barnes and Noble, and Dierberg's. It was beyond surreal to see our dining room on the cover as we checked out with our groceries the other night. I just love it!

Enjoy your weekends, friends! I'm going to spend it house touring and celebrating the lovely mothers in my life.

My New Digs

I am so excited and happy to share this news with you guys! As some of you may know, our home was recently photographed for the lovely St. Louis At Home magazine. It was surreal to have our home styled for a photo-shoot and even more surreal to see our dining room on the front cover of this month's issue! Say what?!?

When I got the email telling us about the cover I about peed my pants. 'Tis true friends. I hope you understand...haha!

As soon as I get my hands on that magazine I will post a pic for you guys to see and I really hope my St. Louis friends check it out. I cannot wait to see those magazines on sale in-store! I may act a little cooky when I finally see it--I still cannot get over how much fun this whole experience has been! I feel like a kid on Christmas!

But, I digress, back to the main point. I was recently asked to be a contributor to the St. Louis At Home magazine's Secretary of the Interior blog!

My assignment is to blog twice a month about St. Louis craigslist finds and other decor that catches my eye! I am so honored and humbled to be asked to do this...this is a total dream of mine that almost doesn't feel real. And...the icinig on the cake? I'll be getting paid! It's so crazy to believe but I feel like I am making my dreams come true. And while that may be a little cheesy, I honestly could feel no different way about it.

Thanks for letting me share the good news with you all and I hope you hop on over to check out my first post.

Love you guys!

xoxo
