I'm Still Here : )

Thanks for all the emails and kind thoughts. You guys are the best. I really do have lots to share but little drive to do it! I am currently almost 32 weeks pregnant and so, so excited!

Recently I had another opportunity to be on St. Louis' KMOV Great Day St. Louis TV show and we got to talk about a baby shower I helped throw last year for one of my best friends, Cori!

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

{I think I was about 28 weeks or so pregnant at that time.}

If you have a second, here's the video. I haven't even watched it--I don't think I'm ready to see my nearly 8 month pregnant self in motion. : )

Next time I go on their show I will be showcasing the nursery {or at at least I think that's the topic!} & I hope you guys stay tuned. Have a great week!

Great Day St. Louis [Design by Numbers]

I had another chance to be on Great Day St. Louis on Friday, 11-11-11, and I had a blast. The hosts, producers, and guests are always the most friendly and helpful people. These experiences are so fun for me and I am always humbled when I am invited back.

Since it was 11-11-11, we focused on using number patterns when decorating.

I hope you'll check it out.

What's Good In Your Hood {Toronto}

Hey friends. I'm so sorry this post is coming at you a day late. I have been exhausted the last couple of days. I need to kick this crazy tired spell before school starts or else I am going to be in for a rude awakening.

Anyhoo, thanks SO much for all of your sweet anniversary wishes and comments. You guys are the best! We took it pretty easy on our anniversary day and went to my Great Day St. Louis appearance, then went to get my headshot taken for my Stl AT HOME blog, and rounded out the afternoon with a little shopping & lunch. By the time we got home, you guessed it...I was exhausted!

The Great Day segment was yet another chance for me to share my love for decorating and Virginia was as sweet as ever.

The whole Great Day crew is made up of the nicest and most welcoming people you'd ever meet! What a great group! I love, love, love getting to appear on their show.

Today we make up for yesterday and scour the deals on Toronto's craigslist!

Great Day St. Louis [Office Reveal]

Since appearing on The Nate Berkus Show {one of the best moments of my life!} I've had the surreal opportunity of appearing regularly on the St. Louis morning show, Great Day St. Louis. It's one of the best experiences of my life that I keep getting to experience. How fun for me!

Virginia Kerr, one of the co-anchors, asked if I would help design her and her producer Dianne's office a couple of months ago. She said it was a site for sore eyes and she was right. Here's a look at camera phone pics of their space:

Photobucket

The office was dark without any natural light, it had exposed plumbing, and cinder block walls. It wasn't a place where Virginia and Dianne felt inspired and I about peed my pants when Virginia asked little ol' me to come up with a design plan.

A couple of stipulations that she gave me were:

1. It had to be done on the cheap; I was giving the ideas & plans but they were carrying them out
2. They would like to DIY as much as possible
3. They wanted a cheery & inspiring place to work

I took their advice and went to town. I scoured the internet and pinterest and came up with a moodboard that I crossed my fingers they would love. I made the moodboard into a powerpoint to share with Virginia and Dianne, but you guys are just seeing some of the slides I had photobucket make into a collage. : )

Here are the videos: "before" and "after". I tried to embed them but it messed up the blog's formatting. Sorry for the extra click!

I am floored at how wonderful the "Live What You Love" art came out. I wanted it to be bold and make a statement and it is definitely my favorite part of their space. I also love that Virginia was able to score the available-for-a short-time-only Urban Outfitter's zig zag rug! I suggested it and she was all for it!

Another favorite of mine was the credenza in Dianne's office that she spruced up and found for free! Woohoo!

I just love these opportunities and I'm happy to share them with all of you, too. Thanks for always being so sweet and supportive. : )

Great Day St. Louis [Simple Ways To Spruce Up Your Place]

Yesterday I had the wonderful pleasure of being a guest on Great Day St. Louis! I talked about simple ways to include items you already have into your home decor. I also rocked a new hairstyle. Bringing back the bang.

I got to stay through the whole show and Virginia revealed her and Dianne's {her producer} office to me! A couple months ago I whipped up some idea boards for them and they took my suggestions and ran with them. I am unbelievably crazy excited to share with you guys the before and after images. The taping will happen soon and it is going to be fabulous. I feel so blessed to be a part of this experience.

Also, I hope you'll check out our newest sponsor on the blog today! Rachel is an illustrator and operates a fun and fresh etsy store with her originals. She's available for custom designs and I am seriously contemplating commissioning her to do an original illustration of the exterior of our home.

Have a great weekend, friends! I'm spending the morning with my best friend, Anna, and the evening with my other best girls!

Summer is my main squeeze.

'At Home' Nod

I was tickled pink to find out that Christy Marshall, the editor of St. Louis At Home magazine, took a few minutes out of her time on Great Day St. Louis to talk with Matt Chambers about me!

I got a facebook message from my sister-in-law alerting me to the segment and I smiled from ear to ear listening to their sweet comments.

I honestly can't wait to show you guys the magazine cover! If you're in the StL area, I know the magazine is being sold at Border's, Barnes and Noble, and Dierberg's. It was beyond surreal to see our dining room on the cover as we checked out with our groceries the other night. I just love it!

Enjoy your weekends, friends! I'm going to spend it house touring and celebrating the lovely mothers in my life.

Great Day St. Louis [The Art of Craigslisting]

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday---it's back to work for me today! Only a couple more weeks til summertime and I am SO ready.

Yesterday I had another awesome opportunity to be a guest on Great Day St. Louis. The beautiful and sweet Virginia Kerr and I got to chat about one of my favorite things ever...craigslist! : )

Here's our fun little segment...I hope you enjoy it:

Thanks for watching! I still can't believe I get to do this sort of thing and am so grateful and feel so blessed. You guys are always so sweet with your comments and they make me smile from ear to ear. I hope you have a terrific day today.

Great Day For Great Finds

Happy Monday, everybody! Before I bring you my usual craigslist city roundup {it's posting later this afternoon}, I'm stopping in real quick to give you guys some local listings that caught my eye.

Why you ask? Well the answer's quite simple. Today, at 10 a.m. St. Louis time, I'll be chatting with Great Day St. Louis host Virginia Kerr about how to make the most out of your craigslist searches.

First up, I chose this $40 dresser. It's a great price for a piece that has great lines. I like it as is but I could also envision it with a paint makeover. I'd use this in an office as a credenza or in a bedroom or living room as a flat screen TV stand.

Photobucket

Next on my radar was this great pair of bamboo detailing chairs. The price is great at $215 {or best offer!} and the upholstery could easily be replaced. I would use this pair as captain chairs in a dining room or as living room occasional chairs.

Photobucket

Finally, my third favorite find was this pair of brass lamps for $100. The lamps are tall and have great shades with them. I love bringing brass back into home fixtures and mixing finishes, too. If brass is not your thing, a can of spray paint will run you only $5!

Photobucket

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay tuned later on this afternoon for my Sacramento picks!

Great Day St. Louis [DIY "Art"]

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest on Great Day St. Louis again. These monthly segments have been such a fun time for me and I hope it continues. Who would've thought I would get to share my passion with people in such a huge way?

I am humbled that they continue to ask me back and I am very, very thankful for getting to take part in such unforgettable life experiences!

This time Virginia and I got to chat about filling up the space in your home with items other than the big box store mass-produced art. I hope you like it!

Thanks for the support, guys!

Did You Catch Me On TV Yesterday?

I was a lucky girl and got to tape another Great Day St. Louis episode yesterday. I got to talk about Decor Resolutions and I had a blast. If you follow me on Twitter, you got to see some inside shots of the studio. I find those kind of things so fun.

I'm still tickled to death that they keep asking me back. I seriously pinch myself to make sure it's still me. I love, love, love doing it! You can find me with a perma-smile on these days.

Hope you enjoyed the segment! Let's make this short week a great one!

Thanks, friends.

Video: Great Day St. Louis - DIY Entertaining

So yesterday I had another fun day at Great Day St. Louis. They invited me back to talk about simple ways to host a DIY holiday get together and of course, I obliged.

I threw together some ideas, took some pictures, and talked about what I could. I'm not an event planner nor designer, so I don't claim to have all the ins and outs of this sort of stuff. But, they keep asking me back and I keep having a blast! Guys, I could so get used to this. Anyone that knows me in real life, or heck-on the blog even, knows that this is quite possibly one of the biggest dreams of my life.

My other dream?

Meeting Britney Spears. And I'm not joking!

On a serious note though, I am forever grateful that the nice people at Great Day actually like me and want my availability for the next 6 months.

What?!?

I am pinching myself, friends. This is absolutely crazy talk and I can't believe it!

xoxo
