Kitchen Island Project Completed

I think I've mentioned before that my Father in Law is the handiest man around. After all, he built us our gorgeous dining room table + our fun little kitchen island.

He's a pretty fantastic guy and I'm honored to be his daughter-in-law!

I finally got around to sealing the butcher block top of the island with waterlox and painting the bottom of the body a nice pale pink. Pink wasn't really even in the running but something inside me made me go that route. It's very subtle {SW Rose of Sharon} and I think that's why I like it. I couldn't decide on a bold color so the pink option was kinda unexpected.

I still have to style it but though I'd at least share with you all the finished product. : ) Now the only thing left for me to make this room complete are new floors!! Hopefully those will come before the end of the year--they are definitely on my to-do list!

xoxo

Few things:

I LOVE your countertop. I always notice it first when you post photos of your kitchen. Where do you buy all of your drapes?? And where did you get the chairs for your table? My dad is making me a table and I cannot find chairs that I love (at a reasonable price...I need to buy 10!)

I love the pink, Joi! It's just soft enough that it makes you take a second look and do I see a decorative plates wall? :)

I absolutely love this room. How lucky to have such a handy man in the family.

This reminds me, I have to take m vintage wire baskets off my front porch and finally find a place for them in the new house.
