Theron's Room [2.0]

Yeah, it's a lame title.  But I wanted to differentiate it from Theron's first room in our first home. Clever I am not.

We've been living here for about a month now and I finally got around to hanging Theron's pictures on his wall and David installed his acrylic bookshelves [that are a big hit in blogland! Thanks to my girl FC, for starting the trend].

We didn't buy a single thing new for Theron's in-between room.  I call it that because I don't consider him a baby anymore but he's not necessarily a big boy either.  I, of course, can't wait to decorate a new room for him as he grows up but for now his room is a nice combo of his old room + playroom from our first home.  We have bigger rooms in this home so it's nice that he has a substantial space to play in his new room.

So, again, here is what we started with:

And here's where we're at today:

We painted Theron's room Incredible White by Sherwin Williams.  I told you earlier, I'm addicted to white paint!

Theron's gallery wall [yes, I still dig 'em!] is a mixture of prints found from stores on the internet, Etsy finds, DIY prints I made, online free printables, and greeting cards.  If you're interested in a specific print I can point you in the right direction.

The benches were a DIY project made by my super handy father-in-law.  I told him what I wanted, after being inspired by the fabulous Jen over at I Heart Organizing's playroom benches, and he made them come to life.  While these benches get pinned over and over as an IKEA hack, they are not from IKEA at all! Guess my father-in-law makes a pretty good look-a-like.  We also followed Jen's tutorial on the bench cushion.

You can see the acrylic bookshelves in this shot really well.  We are going to order two more to put above and below the two we already have.  For reference we have the 30" size. They are extremely affordable and pretty.  Can't beat that!

This wall sits opposite the gallery & bench wall.  Theron is obsessed with that giraffe, or Gidgey as we so lovingly refer to her.  He hugs and kisses her everyday.  Great buy, for sure.

Theron's dresser was a thrift store find that we painted a peacock blue.  It has great storage and we can't see ourselves getting rid of it anytime soon.  And quite possibly my favorite baby gift ever, the Theron nametag, was a gift from my best friend Cori.  Theron's name is in my handwriting and it is just the sweet thing. If you don't know her by now, Kacia, is the fabulous and kind blogger over at Coconut Robot who makes these! She's incredibly talented and I'm lucky to call her my friend because of Cori.  I love how the world works sometimes.

And so that's our little guy's room for now.  He's doing amazingly well.  Keeping us on our toes everyday-all day.

Thanks for checking out his new space and thanks for taking the time to leave a little comment love yesterday.  It's good to be back.  :-)

xoxo

You just have a knack for making a space feel comfortable and chic. Just lovely all around.

I love the gallery wall so much. I need you to come to my house and show me the way. I just don't have the patience.

Perfect space for a not quite a baby not quite a big boy. I'm laughing so hard about the tiki overhang - a house we looked at had the exact same "decor" in one of the kids' bedrooms. I almost had to go back and double check that you hadn't moved to Colorado and I'd somehow missed it.

Looks great! On a complete side note, I noticed in your instagram pics a couple of awesome metal candle lanterns. Any chance you'd share with me where you got them from? thanks!

His room looks darling!! & I know exactly what you mean about the room being a 2.0 ~ with Avery's room his not a baby but not quite a big boy, so I'm calling it his toddler room :)

It looks super cute, chic and toddler friendly! I bet he loves playing in there. I'm disappointed about the hula skirt valance....you could've totally sprayed it brass ;-) can't wait to see it in person. As always, you're an inspiration!

Hey send me that tiki hut valance! ;-)

Aw thanks SO much for crediting me for the acrylic book ledges, friend!! Wish more bloggers had your etiquette. {{{hugs}}}

I LOVE Theron's toddler room. Even though it's all the same stuff from his nursery, it looks so fresh! It's like T's room: a remix. You're making me want to paint our walls white.

This room is so good! Love the use of color in the space. I'm not over gallery walls either:)

I'm starting to crave white rooms, too! Thinking of starting with my office and going from there.
