Birdie Baby Shower

I mentioned yesterday that our weekend was a fun one because we ventured out to Indy for one of my dearest friend's baby shower. I met Cori during my second year of college when we joined the same sorority. We became quick acquaintances {I thought she was so pretty and fashionable} and we had a blast in Alpha Sigma Tau. About a year later she started working in my hometown during the summer and dated one of my best friends. During that summer we became very close, and while the relationship didn't last, our friendship endured. : )

Years later, Cori married an absolutely wonderful and kind man, Brian, and I was fortunate enough to be a bridesmaid in her January winter wedding.

A couple months before that, she stood beside me as my bridesmaid in my Hawaiian wedding.

Even though she lives a few hours away, we've stayed in touch and maintained our bond through our mutual love of shopping, celebrity gossip, and home decor. ; ) When she told me she was pregnant back in November I almost peed my pants! I was THAT excited! She's my first close girl friend that I have ever had be pregnant! I was/am so excited for her and all that is to come.

So fast forward to this weekend and my job at the shower was to be the decorator. Gina, Cori's best friend and my dear friend from AST, was the party planner extraordinaire. That girl put her heart and soul into this shower and Cori loved it! Since Cori has a fondness for birds, our decor centered around that main idea.

The dessert table which featured gourmet cupcakes:

The guest tables were adorned with lace table runners {that I made from old IKEA curtains}, birdhouses and/or bird decor, and fabric poms that Gina made. Oh, and Cori and Brian brought baby pictures of themselves to add to the tables as well. I loved that sentimental touch. : )

The little green birds' nest were from Schnuck's, a local grocery store!

The guests could drink out of mason jars and took home little robin's egg soaps as favors. The birdhouses were from Michael's and I stained and painted all of them to go along with the color scheme.

The food was delicious and it was all due to Gina who planned out a wonderful menu! Cori's friends and Gina's husband made sure all of this came together beautifully!

Cori opened some wonderful gifts and I'm sure little Ethan is going to get a lot of use out of it all!

Before we left, Cori's sweet sister Brittany, took a picture of David and me with the mom and dad to be! I love those 2 and can't wait for the little one's arrival!

And for the last pic of the post...I thought Brian in the background with this balloon was too sweet. That little boy who will be here soon enough is loved so much already! Cori and Brian, you guys are going to be lovely parents and I am so happy for your lives that are about to change! : )

Joi, You (and the other young ladies) did such an amazing job on the shower. I loved the special touches that you did for Cori. The whole day was such a wonderful time for all of us. We are so excited to greet our grandson and these are part of the wonderful memories for him to see when he gets older. Lots of love around his mom (and his dad). Love Tammy

Besides the sheer fact that the entire shower is dripping with sugar sweet cuteness...and everyone looks so adorable...the bigger question on my mind is will you throw my next baby shower? Hmm...I wonder how a blogging baby shower works?

You are beyond fabulous my dear!!!
