Maw Maw made it out of surgery!
Well, she went in at 10:45 this morning and we got to see her around 8 p.m tonight. She got wheeled into the operating room around 12 noon and then the operating room called us in the waiting room and told us they started working on her at around 2 p.m. She was in surgery for 5 hours and then recovery for about an hour. Afterward Me, Mom, Uncle Lester, Carolyn, and Betty stayed to see her up to her room (Paw Paw had to leave because he had to be at work super early tomorrow morning). The doctor told us that she did fine throughout surgery. He did say that he felt some swollen lymph nodes, but that we won't know if the cancer has spread until we get the test results back. We should receive those test results in 2-5 days and we will know what the true prognosis is. When we left, Maw Maw was extremely groggy but alert, and was happy to see everyone. She was very tired so we left her to get some rest. She, of course, asked us if we all had eaten...always worrying about others before herself! I am off the rest of the week and I will visit her tomorrow with some other visitors, as well. She will be in the hopsital for at least tomorrow and maybe Friday. Finally, I want to extend a huge thank you to those of you who could be with us today: Mom, David, Paw Paw, Aunt Linda, Aunt Brenda, Aunt Norma, Uncle Lester, Carolyn, Betty, Nanette, Tom, Rosalie, Paw Paw's Pastor, and Aunt Dooie. Maw Maw is tuly loved so much! Keep all those prayers coming! We want cancer free test results from those lymph nodes!
