Super Serious Rug Crush

I've been finding myself thoroughly enjoying Saturday nights on HGTV! It's a treat to have Genevieve, Candice, and Emily all in one night! It could only get better if they decided to throw Sarah or Samantha into the mix! I wish HGTV would take note and add more shows with this flavor to their mix...I get so tired of seeing marathon episodes of House Hunters every other second. Anybody with me?

Last week's Secrets from A Stylist episode had me squealing out loud {sorry, Dave} when I saw that gorgeous fuschia pink rug in Joy and Bob's living room. Yes, I know the first look was loud {on purpose} but that rug spoke to me. I felt like it was reaching out and saying, "Joi, buy me!"

Crazy? Maybe! Haha! I have been thinking about it ever since and have been saving up my pennies for its over $1000 pricetag--say whaaa?!?

I know it's a lot of pink, and maybe too much for all you neutral lovers out there...but I am not normal {sorry mom!} and I capital A-dore the color pink. So, only time will tell how long it takes to make this bad boy mine. I already have a place for it in my home. Yup, I'm officially obsessed.

Oh, and I tweeted about its source this weekend and Emily tweeted me back! Talk about starstruck! I love how social media connects us all and it blows my mind how one minute I can have a question and the next minute the star of the show is personally answering it---too incredibly wonderful and I don't think I will ever get over loving it!

Who would've thought I could get so mushy over social media...only me. Geezo.

xoxo

Wow, I totally love this rug too! I'm going to hunt for a cheaper look alike... Can't get enough of Emily! Love her!

Oh, Joi, I'm with you! I wish I had $1000 to throw at that baby! I don't know if my husband would agree though...
There was a marathon of Sarah's show on last weekend. It was a fantastic break from all of the basketball that's been watched in my house!

I've been debating buying that rug myself (in the taupe version). I have two concerns--one is that it is very thin (its cotton weave), and two, I'm afraid it won't lay flat. You can see later in the episode she uses the same rug in blue, and its not laying flat--its wavy and bumpy, like a dhurrie.

see the wavy/bumpy on her blog (its towards the end):

But, I will agree, all of Madeline Weinrib's rugs are gorgeous. I live outside NYC and have gone to the ABC Carpet and Home twice in the last few weeks just to look at those rugs.

I love it! It will take a lot of pennies to save for this one... but so worth it! It will be such a statement.

I love the rug too, Joi!

I totally agree about the HGTV shows. :) Oh my, Dear Genevieve has been especially good this season!

My DVR didn't work and I'm be-yond bummed (let me say it again: be-yond bummed) I missed "Secrets". I looked forward to it all week! I tweeted Emily to see if she knew of rerun times.... no response... so YOU, my dear, are indeed a special girl! :)

hugs,

That rug is fabulous Joi, and so you. I'm with you on that Sat. line up on HGTV its pretty good. What is up with a TRILLION EPISODES of House Hunters? The hunters annoy the crap out of me. They complain about the dumbest stuff. Back to Emily, I was scared when I saw the first room... omg, then the real room was fantastic Whew. It would be great if they added Sarah (MY FAVE) to the mix, my booty would be in stuck in the chair all evening.

Im with you on the house hunter's thing! I love that rug! But I love that mustard colored chair even more!!

I just love those color combinations! And I too have just the space for that rug. Thanks for the fab picture!

I have loved that rug forever, but I just can't justify spending over $1000 on a cotton flat weave rug on my salary right now. Soo sad

I loved the navy version but I can't justify spending $1,000 on a rug my dogs will probably ruin :(

Oh well, I can adore yours from afar :)

It is beautiful and how fun that Emily answered you back! I'd keep my eyes peeling for a similar and more affordable version, but in the end it would be a worthwhile investment. Can't wait to see it in your home.

Here's a rug that's almost an exact match at a much more reasonable price...I have a similar rug in yellow that I love but it isn't available in pink. I'm glad to hear someone else is a fan of Saturday night on HGTV. In my next life I want to come back as Sarah Richardson. :o) ~Ann

I am with you on the marathons of House Hunters. I agree with adding Sarah. When o when are we going to get Sarah's Cottage and Sarah 101 shown in the US?

WOW, I LOVE that rug!! You should totally get it and I'll live vicariously through your floor covering! And yes- SOO over House Hunters!

This totally looks like 'you.' Fun, glam and pretty! Can't wait til you save it up. The truth is, a great rug is still gonna be at least $500, right? So, why not?

This rug is straight up GORGE! I would never think to put all of the those colors and patterns of the room but it looks awesome. Crossing my fingers for a One King's Lane sale shortly...

Thanks for the ideas for HGTV shows...we got a new DVR and I haven't added any shows yet from HGTV...so I will check these out!

Its so pretty! It has a lot of color but I really don't think it's too crazy at all. I love your HGTV on Saturday night routine - I often get stuck at home on Saturday afternoon/evenings doing homework on the sofa, and i always put on HGTV (muted or not depending on what I am doing) to keep me company :) Glad I am not the only one. haha!

WOAH that rug is fabulous! Reminds me of something Nicole of Making It Lovely would have in her home. What a fun find! :)

I always get nervous when there isn't a price listed! But a girl can look, dream, look and dream some more, right? Maybe Overstock will get a good knockoff someday?!

And I'm of the opinion you can never have too much pink. My fiance would beg to differ.

Yay for the blogosphere! I'm so bad at keeping up on Twitter, though.

turn up the rad

I'm super in love with the rug, too! I think its well worth pinching your pennies. I actually have a yellow one PB one in my living room thats very similar! And PS. I get starstruck too... like when Jillian Harris tweeted me earlier this week after I did a post on her. So cool! :)

You ARE crazy to spend that much money on a pink rug!! Buuuut, that's also why I love you! ;) Can't wait to see it in your house!

Back when Emily was on Design Star, I read her blog and commented every now and then. One day, she came over to my blog and read about my wallpaper panel gone bad and emailed me with her own story of woe about a DIY project. You should have heard me squealing when I got that email from her! (I hadnt even emailed her in the first place!) Talk about a super awesome down to earth girl. LOVE her.

This pink rug is dreamy. I adore it too and really enjoyed Joy's transformation. I am loving Emily's show, it's a fun addition to the mix of other HGTV designers.
