Raise The Roof

All in one day, the roofers tore off our 2 layers of old shingles and got the new roof put on before I even got home to see one working body! They were fast little boogers and my father-in-law was here to supervise while David and I were at school. We can now sleep soundly at night and not in fear when a thunderstorm comes through with strong winds!

I am super impressed with the finished product and know I am officially 'old' when I get excited about a new roof : ) Ahhh, the good things in life!

The before--now you all know how my camera is not the best, but trust me, the shingles were a weird shade of red and not a pretty sight. You can't see the missing shingles and black stains--yikes!


The after! The roof is the great {and modern} shade of 'Driftwood' compliments of Owens Corning and we got the fancy shmancy architectural shingles {which as I understand, are pretty much customary now} oh well-we still felt special!

{p.s. I'm well aware that many, if not all of you, will probably only see a subtle difference in the before and after photos--but the difference in person is well noted! : ) }
