All In The Family

I have great news to report! Not only have I lost 3.5 pounds {yipee!} working out, but even better, mom and paw paw have been working out with me!

It's so fun to work out after school and get to see my family members. It's even nicer because we can motivate each other and hold one another accountable. : )

I finished my 3 jump-start training sessions and right now just can't afford the $379 pricetag to commit to more.

However, if anyone of you in GC are interested, my trainer Jarred at Club Fitness is starting a boot camp next week and the cost is $180 for 12 sessions. He will have morning and evening classes available. He's super easy to talk to and I would highly recommend him! : )

I Almost Made It

I went to my training session pumped up and ready to get to work. I jogged for 10 minutes straight on the treadmill {a very big accomplishment for me} and then did some other leg squats, arm exercises, and chin ups. About 3/4 of the way through I had to stop. I was in physical pain and was completely out of breath and extremely woozy. I had that feeling in the throat where you just know what's about to come up.

My trainer was nice about it, I felt like a wussy, but we moved past that because I felt like I was going to pass out. I've never been lightheaded like that or fainted, but today was probably pretty darn close. He explained it to me that I was working my legs so much that the blood wasn't circulating as well in my head. He had me lie down on my back with my legs in the air and I rested.

He talked and talked and all I could do was breathe steadily and keep my eyes closed. I was not about to throw up in a gym with students, former high school classmates, and who knows else there.

I felt mad that I couldn't pull of the whole hour, but my body gave up. As we were talking it pretty much was discovered that my body did not have enough fuel for that workout. I, like a dummy, did not eat nearly enough in the day to warrant the amount of work I went through. I did not even think of that and feel silly for eating too little. I now know that I better be loading my body up with good proteins and carbs!

As with the time before, the whole 45 minutes I wanted to die and thought about canceling the next two sessions. But, here I sit now wanting to do it again. Crazy? Maybe. Determined? You bet!

Holy Cow

I went to my free training session at Club Fitness and thought I was gonna die. My trainer was personable and down to earth and hid his laughter when I couldn't do most of the things he asked very well. For that, I thank him--ha!

He measured me and weighed me {oh joy} and we got down to business. He gave me a test drive on all the machines and then had me doing exercises working muscles I never knew existed. I literally felt like one of those people on The Biggest Loser when they cry/scream, "I can't do it anymore!" But, I held it together, barely, and needless to say, I signed up for three more sessions.

I'm a "yes" girl and couldn't say no. It's pricey, but what's more important than my health? Yup, nothing!

So, wish me luck that a} I make it and don't collapse and b} that I don't look like a complete fool during this process! He guaranteed me results as long as I keep up my end of the bargain. It'll be hard, extremely hard, but I'm going to do it.

I may be sore the whole time and way out of breath, but I'm going to do it! : )

It's Go Time

I promised my mom weeks ago that I'd sign up to be a member here:

I'm going to keep my word and head over there tomorrow after school. I guess I've put it off long enough. Of course I'd love to lose weight {who wouldn't???} but I'd also like to get in shape.

I've never been athletic, ever. I don't run and I can't play a sport well if my life depended on it. However, even so, I must get into better shape! I mean, I've gotta be in a swimsuit around students in less than 8 months--Spain here we come!!!!! If that's not enough to get my booty in gear I don't know what is! There really is no better time than now.

To all my married gals, you know those months leading up to your wedding when all you could think about was "I must look good in my dress!!!"? Remember how you ate well and worked out religiously? Well, I too, was one of "those girls" and I want to be like that again. I just gotta get my mind back in the game. And ya know, I actually really love working out...it's the getting ready, making time for it in the cold that makes me make excuses and not go.

But, I hope with me putting this out there for all of you to see will make me more accountable!

Here's to tomorrow, the next 8 months, and the rest of my life! : )
