A couple months ago I
posted about this sofa that I found, once again, through Craigslist for $45! I knew I had to have it and what I wanted to do with it.
Some people think I am crazy for wanting a white sofa, but it was truly the only color I wanted. I was able to find a natural
linen-esqe fabric via Sunbrella and their indoor/outdoor fabric line. Since the fabric is constructed for outdoor use it boasts claims of super high durability and stain resistance.
We've had it for a month or so now and am pleased to report that it is holding up quite well. I am noticing more dog hair on it, which was expected, but it's nothing a little lint roller action can't remedy.
I can't wait to show you the rest of the room and some of the other projects we've been working on to bring it all together. As always, stay tuned and thanks for reading! : )
xoxo

Wow that really looks amazing. Did you have it done, or do it yourself?
Amazing! It's absolutely gorgeous!
Joi - I LOVE it!!!! It looks fantastic. As do the pillows on the couch - mind sharing where you scored them? they are the perfect scale! Thanks!

joi it turned out very lovely!!!You are allways changing your house, but you do such a wonderful job decorating. I still wish you would come do mine!!
Joi, the sofa looks amazing, I am so impressed! We use the Scotch Fur Fighter to handle Casco's fur on our white couch - works well. I've also heard good things about the Pledge Fabric Sweeper. Good luck!
This is jaw dropping gorgeous and amazing!
that's pretty much exactly what i want! was the upholstery totally outrageous or did you DIY?
Omg, that is STUNNING! What a gorgeous transformation!
Did you re-upholster it yourself?

Wowee what a transformation! I love the white!
gorgeous! i'm wondering (like everyone else) if you did it yourself or had someone else do it? either way, it's fabulous!
OMG! It's fabulous! I heart the tufting! Oh, girl, the zebra pillows are a perfect match! :::salivating:::
Thanks for all the compliments! This was totally not a DIY project, I had it professionally reupholstered.

Holy *&^@$^!! Stunning, gorgeous, delectable, luxe, amazing. Oh wait, one more: FREAKING GLAMOROUS.
This sofa seriously got me hot & bothered. What a transformation!
Ok, Jay and I have been burning up our credit cards buying furniture for the condo in FL. I seriously need to start searching for Craigs List finds...this couch, the side table...absolutely stunning!
I love this. It really looks amazing.
I love it, I love it, I love it! It's gorgeous Joi! Can't wait to see the rest of the room!
WOW JOI! This is... well I just don't think words describe!! Fabulous!
my mouth i wide open..wow...looks so great...of course i am posting this...cant wait to seee the rest Joi.
wowowow! how much does reupholstering run? I love the tufting.
WOW! I keep my eye out on craigslist but have never found anything that fabulous.
I wanted to know was it very expensive to reupholster? If it was less than the cost of a similar brand new sofa then I guess its worth doing, but I know that it can be expensive to get furniture recovered.
I love tufted sofas. I recovered our kitchen bar stools with Sunbrella fabric almost five years ago and they are still in pristine condition. (And I have two children who sit at these stools on a daily basis!)
AMAZING. I did the same thing with a sofa I scored on CL...mine is also white!

Beautiful Job!!
Did you reupholster yourself? and how??
Holy Crap. That is amazing! Sorry for the use of the word crap...I'm just stunned. It's absolutely beautiful.
I would love a white sofa. Way to go for sticking to it! Three kids, two dogs and my clumsiness would not do well with one. But it doesn't stop me from wanting one!
WOW! I love the couch! What a find!! I'm a sucker for tufted couches and have been crossing my fingers for something similar in my craigslist searches. Wish me luck!
This looks amazing! I'm so happy to have found your blog!
I found you through Better After, and like I said over there! You made an very ugly duckling into an amazingly gorgeous swan!
Kat :)
gorgeous! from grandma to swanky. well done!
Holy Schmoly! ;) I am going to feature this tomorrow on HowDoesShe.com. I'll be linking to your 'good in our hood' as well! Thanks for sharing! :)
Just found your blog! Love the sofa! Looks so high-end! I love the idea of using Sunbrella fabric. Well done!
Would still love to know how much it cost. Don't want to be disillusioned about what projects I can afford. Even a range would be great. A $45 sofa is phenomenal but I don't wnat that being that number sticking out in my mind if the upholstery was outrageous. I find that's what gets most readers in trouble when they visit these kinds of blogs. Full disclosure, please.
OMG! I just bought this exact couch (different fabric) for $40.00 at a garage sale yesterday. I thought it would be great recovered and now I see that it is better than great! I am thinking a pale blue with zebra and orange pillows on it. Unfortunately will have to do it myself, so not sure it will turn out as great as yours. I have three other pieces to practice on first. I LOVE IT!!
