A New Toy: Wide Angle Lens + 'Before' Nursery Shots

Our house is extremely small and cozy. Getting pictures of our rooms proves to be troublesome a lot of the time. The other month or so I was reading my girl Sara's blog and immediately became enamored with her new wide angle lens that allowed her to shoot angles of her home that revealed so much.

I put buying this lens on hold for so long but then finally bit the bullet fully realizing I would want to take pictures of the nursery very, very soon! And, with it being the smallest room besides the bathroom, getting shots would be quite difficult.

The nursery is soclose to being done and really we are just waiting for the glider to be shipped and then I can hang all of the art and make last minute furniture arrangements.

For the curious, this is what we started with:

Much has changed and I can't wait to reveal it! And, if you're interested, I am going to sell my Urban Outfitters light you see in the pics. I don't know if anyone will want it, but I'll list it on the 'for sale' page soon.

But, I do have some fun pics of some spaces that I took with our new lens. It obviously distorts the image slightly {and I gotta learn to focus better} but that's ok with me...I love getting to see so much in one shot! : )

Hopefully the glider will come this week and I'll have some nursery shots for you guys! Have a happy week, friends.

Loving the lens! And I'm kinda jealous because I feel like I can't really give a good picture of any of our small rooms, either. Very cool!

And, I'm so darn excited to see that nursery!

i really wish we'd had a wide angle lense for our old house... especially our kitchen.

Looks like your lens is a fish eye. We have a wide angle, but ours just flattens things out. I love having the option of getting more things in photos, especially inside the house.

It's cool to see how your rooms connect with each other. I especially like being able to see your whole living room at one time. It's one of my faves!

Sweet! I love the fish eye lens, it is too fun. Now that I have a wide angle that doesn't distort, it never leaves my camera. I'm so glad you are having fun with it, and I love the foot pic :)

Nothing like getting a new toy, but that fish eye look on the pics is a little weird. Does you lens adjust and flatten the image? I can't wait to see the room finished.
