Kate Spade Inspired DIY

My latest DIY project comes straight from the wonderfulness that is Pinterest. After spying this lovely Kate Spade inspired canvas, I knew I had to make one of my own for our soon-to-be baby boy's nursery.

I am happy to report that this project is rather simple and quick to complete.

Materials Needed:

1) Canvas {you decide the size}:

2) Gold Scrapbook Paper:

3) 2" Circle Punch:

4) Adhesive {I chose to use a hot glue gun to avoid fumes}

Process:

Photobucket

To achieve the Kate Spade inspired look above, first take your 2" circle cut-outs and place them randomly on your canvas. You can decide how many circles you wish to incorporate. Being random is not as easy as it looks!

Photobucket

Once you have decided on a layout, glue the cut-outs to the canvas. Next, lay the canvas flat to dry and then hang in the perfect spot of your choice.

Photobucket

Our version is waiting patiently in our crib to be hung up as the rest of the nursery decor comes together!

If you are not a fan of gold, you could always use a plethora of other color options. The possibilities are endless! The nursery is coming together and I am super excited to share some updates with you guys soon.

P.S. I hit the 30 week mark this week and am officially freaking out.

xoxo

This is awesome. I'm definitely going to do something similar in my girl's nursery - I've been looking for ideas to fill up a wall with artwork.

I heart gold! Always a fan. I esp. love how the art adds just the perfect punch of boyish whimsy!

Aww, so sweet to see baby boy's crib! Isn't it surreal? I think that was the moment it hit me like OMG, we're having a baby. Then I peed my pants. =]

Happy 30 wks, my friend!

Looks amazing Joi!

I actually have found the hot glue works better anyways and its less messy.

I like that you used a textured gold and solid gold with the glitter!

I love it! And the gold is totally something that could work in any room of the house. I love that your "nursery decor" isn't juvenile. Very cool!

You did a great job on this! I would have never thought to punch out the circles, I would have only thought to paint them. I love the punch out concept much better because it's quick and there's virtually no room for error!
