DIY: Bolster Pillow Cover

Our master bedroom makeover has been slow moving. Usually I like to get things done pretty quickly but this has taken longer than expected. I caught you guys up to speed last week with the bedding additions and today it gets even better.

Since summertime I've had this Old Navy sarong to use as a bolster pillow cover.

I finally got my mom to come up and sew it for me and she knocked it out of the park. I am lucky to have a brand-spanking new sewing machine compliments of my grandparents and was happy for my mom to break it in.

I'm not very math-minded so sewing from scratch, without a pattern, makes my brain hurt a little.

Thankfully my mom is great at that sort of thing and I got a bolster pillow cover in under two hours. Booya!

I had to buy some thread and bobbins to get us started and the rest was a go!

The sarong was a little see-through so my mom sewed an old white sheet remnant to the back to make it less transparent.

Following these basic instructions, my mom whipped up the pillow cover in no time.

Here's the final product sitting pretty on our bed. In a few days or so I've got some more updates to the master bedroom. Can't wait to share the updates.

Wanna see the other pillows my mom has sewn for me? Check out these and these!

Thanks, Mom. ♥

I wish I could get my mother to pull out her sewing machine. Brings back memories of when I was little and made all of my clothes that I hated then but love now :)

Your mom has some mad sewing skills. Maybe she'd like to take a trip to Phoenix to help me, too?! :)

Love the new bolster and how your room is coming together. I'm so drawn to those lamps.
