What's Good In Your Hood {Portland, OR}

Happy Monday, guys! I am so excited because this marks the last week of summer school {hopefully for the rest of our lives!} for David and me!! Woohoo! I am so ready to be done; but I'm also kind of bummed because that means summer is quickly coming to a close. But, enough of that! I've still got weeks to enjoy! No Debbie-Downer mood for me. I won't have that business.

This weekend David and I celebrated the wedding of my late best friend's brother. It was a swanky event and we both had a good time. I wish Em could've been there and that circumstances were different but it is what it is.

When we got home David and I decided to take a walk {a habit we're trying to make every night} and then we were going to head to bed. Well, if you follow me on twitter you know that did not happen. Five minutes into our walk David and I had to duck under a tree to get out of the road for an oncoming car and while I made it, David didn't duck far enough and a huge tree branch blasted him in the head.

David cried out in pain, I laughed {oops} because I thought he was joking, but we quickly both knew it was more serious. He was bleeding and immediately felt sick. We walked back home and I started cleaning it up; it was not just a scrape but more like a substantial gash. I knew the ER was the place to be. We drove to the ER at 11 p.m. and David got a CT scan to check his brain {it was a-ok!}, and ended up with 3 staples to the head. He was a trooper but boy-oh-boy was he in pain.

We haven't taken a nightly walk since this little incident...but we'll be back! : )

Anyhoo, that's our weekend round-up--let's get to the deal finding in Portland, Oregon!

OMG, I'm glad David is doing OK! That's horrible (I'm such a baby when it comes to pain, so with staples in the head and such, Dave sounds like a real trooper to me!)

Some friends of ours just bought an almost identical patio set to the one you show...they got it at an estate sale for $300 and it's very comfy and great quality (I think it's nearly 50 years old.) Of course, theirs is on the most gorgeous patio overlooking the Intercoastal, so that could have something to do with my overly biased opinion :)

Oh no! Man, when David ducks for cover he doesn't play around. Sending him wishes for a speedy recovery!

Loving all these picks! My fav is the metal wall sculpture. I've just got to find one for myself now :)

Hope the hubby gets better quick!

I'm glad I'm not the only wife who laughs first and checks to see if he's okay second. ;)
