First, let me just say I love the chevron drapes. Love them. But when I saw this fabric something in me said I needed it and that the chevron drapes had to go. They had their heyday.
I'm not the biggest purple or red fan so me liking this fabric really kind of shocked me. But I went with it! I couldn't stop thinking about it so I knew it was the real deal.
I wasn't totally sold on getting rid of all things chevron in my life so I made sure to buy this chevron rug from Overstock. The quality is pretty thin, but for the price, I'm OK with it.
I also replaced the spray painted chandelier for one that I purchased months ago from a local furniture dealer. It looks like a disco ball and it casts a pretty sweet light on the walls and ceiling. It was less than a $100 bucks so it won't feel bad replacing it down the road.
{A little note: all of these pics are either phone pics or non-edited...just call me lazy!}
I gotta thank my father-in-law and husband for wiring and hanging it for me! Thanks, guys!
Back to the fabric for a bit...I bought quite a bit since I wanted to make 4 panels for both windows. It came in one super long piece so we had to cut it outside. I'm sure people were wondering what we were up to.

After cutting it I hemmed it with the n0-sew iron hem and hung all of the panels close to the ceiling. I bought some ring clips from Target and used the rods that I already had.
I still have some more plans for the room and of course I'll share them with you all as I go along. You know my home is never quite done. : )xoxo

You are just amazing. I love how you mix bold patterns and they just work. I've been trying to do that a bit more when I decorate.

I love that fabric, where is it from? It looks great up against the darker walls as well. I wish I was as artistic as you and could do this kind of thing, because let me tell you, your home is beautiful!
Ooh, I love that fabric! We just pulled the trigger on a hot pink floral fabric yesterday (we're recovering an ottoman), but I had to really fight for it - my man was NOT on board at first. I was also surprised at myself for loving it so much, but hey, tastes change.
Love those drapes!
Oops, you did it again. ;)
It looks awesome. Of course. The fabric is totally something I wouldn't have picked. But, wow! It looks great as curtains. And I'm really digging the rug, Joi. Very cool!
Love the light fixture and rug updates and the new furniture layout! I was all "what the heck" when I saw the screen print of the fabric and the pic on the driveway, but it looks beautiful up...so cheery and festive!
I love that fabric! PLEASE come redecorate my house! :)
Excuse me while I have a nice little pout about your amazing light fixture not being MINE!
I love what you've done with this room, where are the blue lamps from? I desperately want to have an eye for mixing and matching colors, is it all trial and error, or do you just know it when you see it?
Things are looking great in there! I love the pop of color in the new curtains and that new light fixture is so pretty! Great finds!
i love the bright colors, and the rug is fantastic! this is an example of a fabulous before and after! ha:)
I am in love with your chandelier! So unique. I have been debating doing my office walls dark with bright splashes of color and I think you have pushed me in that direction!
It look gooood! I love the rug, table lamps, variety of pillows, work desk + yellow chairs .. which would totally make me STAY at my desk to work. :)
Oh dear. I enjoy your blog but I've never commented before and I really feel compelled to... most of your rooms are so darling. I love your advice and your eye for great thrifted and vintage finds. But this room is a disaster. It is completely without any rhyme or reason. As if you've taken every design trend of the last five years and thrown them together with no sense of proportion for the size of your prints or color scheme. Well, its a work in progress...keep working. You'll get there!
