Short And Sweet

Guess what little animal decided to come live with us? An adorable little owl I found at one of the St. Louis Goodwill stores! You may spy some tape on her head because she's got a little fracture. : (

Soon she will get glued and all will be a-ok! My favorite parts about her are her little eyes and the flower on her head. She had me at hello!

P.S. Lots of people email and ask where the wire bins under the island are from. Answer? Crate and Barrel. They were pretty cheap and can be found online here. I've also seen many at Gordman's as well! Hope that helps some of you in your hunt!

Joi! I am dying over this cookie jar! I have had my eye on an Anthro one but cannot stomach the $136 price tag. Please let me know if you see anything similar around town! You find the best stuff lady!

Joi - In regard to the island itself. I can't remember, did your FIL build that for you or did you purchase it?

Also, I have a more open kitchen at my new place and would love to have something similar for more work space. Do you find it hard to move around though with it there? How much space do you have between the island and your counter tops/appliances?

Adorable! Owls are so cute.

Ps: I have the same Milk glass vase as the one on the centre of your island bench (all the way over here in the land of Oz).

@Alison-Yup, my father in law made my island. He's pretty awesome!

I don't think it's hard to move around at all, actually I like it better with it in there. We had too much open space and the island looks like it was meant for the space. : )

I'd say we have about two feet from the countertops and appliances.

Hope that helps! : )
