Break From Our Regulary Scheduled Programing

Hi friends. It's Wednesday and that usually means I'm here with one of my craigslist city posts, however this week has been so crazy busy that it will have to wait until next week. Hope you'll forgive my tardiness.

My schedule has been jam packed lately because, as you know, I was getting ready for the Apartment Therapy House Tour this past weekend {even though they said not worry about cleaning I just couldn't do that}. Then, and this is the biggie that I don't think I've mentioned here yet, but I am pretty much single-handedly decorating a wedding reception this coming weekend. I got the go ahead last weekend {yes, you're reading that right} to buy the entire reception decor and I have been spending every.last.second of my free time working on buying, organizing, creating, and DIYing centerpieces. I'm having a ton of fun but I am exhausted. For reals, like all I think about is when I get to sleep next. I will be SO happy when Saturday comes and goes and I really hope the bride likes what I came up with. It's a little strange because I basically have a set budget and free reign to do whatever I want with it. I'm also so appreciative of my worker bees who are joining me Saturday morning. : )

Wanna see a sneak peek at what I've been working on? Take a gander below...

Again, my photos are from my cell phone pics so you'll have to excuse their quality. I haven't regressed that much. ; )

Photobucket

See those flower arrangements? 3 down, 1 more to go. Making just one of those bad boys takes 3 hours. THREE hours.

I know, right?! Am I a glutton for punishment?

And that's only if two people are working on them! Bless David's little heart for helping me. I've told ya'll before, but that boy's a keeper. {If you're looking for a tutorial, take a trip down memory lane to this post.}

Photobucket

The pine cones you see will eventually be sprayed silver and I am incorporating other types of items later on.

Some of the tables are going to have branch centerpieces that you see below. I told David I was going to get arrested for trespassing Sunday night for snagging branches from the lake by our house. Picture me, traipsing through almost a foot of snow with my clippers, while it was still snowing out, attempting to pick out the perfect branch. It's really just a hoot.

Photobucket

As of right now, the branches are sitting in large restaurant tin cans, wrapped with paper, and filled with sand. My plan for those is to hang the smallest mason jars with tea lights in them, from the branches. Wish me luck. It might take a miracle for this all to come together in the very few hours I have left.

So, in a blogpost, that's my life right now. I still have TONS to do and the clock's ticking. I'll be around here and there, but I promise to be on the ball better next week.

Thanks so much, loves. Oh, and I read all of your comments on the new rug. I love your honesty--you guys rock!

xoxo

OMG! So pretty! I would totally use the floral centerpieces for home decor. I would be that crazy bride making sure they all come home with me after the wedding. The tiny mason jar is also fab! Everything is gorgeous!

You might want to consider some cement in the bottom of those tin cans to hold the branches in place. I don't think sand will hold them once they have stuff hanging from the branches.
