Gotta Have Them

So the another night while I was watching the abysmal season of Design Star, I was totally smitten with Genevieve Gorder's shoes. {Sorry for the quality, I had to do a screen cap of the video.}

The mustard yellow immediately drew me to them and, in that instant, I knew I wanted them. If you've been watching this season of Design Star you'll probably agree that getting sidetracked by fashion is just an inevitable occurrence since not much designing seems to be going on there.

I could go on and on about my disdain for this season's show but I think I'll leave it to this blogger, who seems to have a way with words and says what I think am certain everyone who is watching, really feels!

Anyhoo, back to those shoes! Well, a couple weeks went by and like normal, I forgot about them. But, fast forward to tonight and I stumble upon this post, on this blog, featuring this photo and I see them-the shoes that I had so lusted for weeks prior, but forgot about until that very moment.

I knew this had to be a sign, right? So I magnified the image to see if I could read the fine print but-dang it- I unfortunately couldn't.

I thus resorted to my trusty friend google and typed "yellow cut out wedge." Hoping for fast results I somehow ended up on like the 10th page of endless.com and found them! And, wouldn't you know, one size 8.5 left! Yup, in my cart they went and by now they're on their happy little way to my house...probably in enough time to make an appearance for the first day of school outfit. We shall see.

And as I look back at good ol' Genevieve's shoes, I notice they're not the same, but who says inspiration has to lead to an exact replica? Yeah, not me. : ) Let's hope I like them just the same!

Enjoy your weekends, friends. ♥

xoxo

Great shoes! And I thought I was the only one who thought this season of Design Star was a complete disappointment!

Gaah! I can't stand this season of Design Star. I am sick of all these team challenges. When the "winner" has their own show, they won't be working with another designer, so I just don't get it.

It used to be when I watched this show, I felt inspired. This season I watch it and think "I could do that better."

My favorite Design Star winner was Jen, and I was so sad it didn't work out with her (but she held the value of family comes first and you have to respect that).

Genevieve's shoes are always the bomb! I even love the boots that she wears on her show! I hope you like the shoes because I can't wait to see them on you!

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one who thinks this season is painful. But at least you're being productive while watching it and gleaming style inspiration, I'm just developing more snark for my already too snarky personality.

The design this season is horrendous, the designers are blah, and I'm sorry, but that Reese Witherspoon look alike had vertical blinds in her own house in the last episode when she was skyping with her husband. Not a good sign.

I too thought I was the only one who was disappointed by this season! But yet I keep watching...I just keep hoping that this week will be the week where it will get better and it never is. I used to be so inspired after watching and now all I feel is like I wasted an hour of my life!

Love Genevieve's style though, totally agree about the shoes.

Every one bugs me on the show this year - all the designers, the judges, blah, blah, blah! I'll take Project Runway any day this season.

Haha, wow, those shoes are something else! I don't think I could pull those off but I don't doubt you will rock them! You'll have to post pics of how you style them!

I couldn't agree with you more. This season of Design Star is soooooo lame! The only reason why I keep watching is because Michael looks just like Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out. I miss Jeff on TV.

Oh and your shoes are to die for!!! Perfect for the first day of school...and every other day after that. :)

Somehow I found your blog via blog hopping. Love it!

I just moved to L.A. and went to the Barney's New York Warehouse sale and I think I tried on the ones that Genevieve had on. They were gorgeous Loeffler Randall heels and they were still WAY expensive. If only I had a couple hundred to blow on shoes! The ones you found are a good substitute! :)
Here is a link to the ones I tried on:
