Thanks to our dual snow day, the Mr. and I made a little trip out to one of my favorite new furniture stores earlier this week. There are only two in the metro area, but they are totally worth the trip. They have contemporary/transitional pieces that resemble higher end pieces. And the major plus is that their prices are pretty reasonable and their selection is classic yet current. I linked their logo below, but their website does not offer all the goodies you will see. I guarantee that the in-store shopping experience is 10x better.
They have beds, sofas, chairs, lamps, rugs, and tons of accessories. You will love this store, promise. David and I actually made quite a big purchase there on Tuesday, but I'll leave you waiting until it comes in before I spill all the beans.
Let me know if you've been or end up going. I want to know what you think! : )

OOOhhh I live in STL! I will have to check this out! Thanks!
Cannot wait to see what you found. How come I find out about all these great places in St. Louis after I move away after 4 years? Well, in college, I wasn't really into decor anyhow, I suppose. =)
K!!! You lived in StL? Too bad we weren't blogging buddies back then!
Where'd you go to college?
oooh fun! can't wait to see what your big purchase was!
I, too, am in the St. Louis area. Who would have known? Yes, I've been to Phillips Furniture. They use to be very high-end and the prices reflected it. Then Steve Phillips opened the Weekend Only Stores and changed his Phillips Stores to Ashley Stores. He still has the Weekend Only Stores, at least in Fairview Heights, but appears to be going back to Phillips, rather than Ashley. Ashley has had some bad publicity due to the poor quality of the furnishings. That's the inside scoop, as far as I've heard. So can you tell I've worked in the design industry in St. Louis??? There are times when you need good and expensive furniture and there are times when you just need an inexpensive piece to sit there and look good! (kind of like a man - joking.)
Joi, you are the greatest! I have been drooling over this lamp from Crate and Barrel:

and Phillips has a much cheaper option!!!

It's not exact, but for $100 it's good enough.
Oooh, thanks!
