It's a word I can't help but get giddy over. It really is the best four letter word-promise!
It's the word: FREE! You love it too, right? I know I do, and most of the time it's too good to be true!
The other Saturday, David and I were in our hometown to visit our families & for Spanish lessons. While we were driving down my grandparent's street I saw 3 chairs with that beloved four letter word taped on them! I had to have them!
Three FREE chairs with so much potential had me weak in the knees...who cares that I had no plans or ideas for them at that moment! They have the potential for greatness...thank God for my sweet husband and his go-with-the-flow attitude. That sweet man lifted two chairs into our SUV and then walked the third one down to my grandparent's home since it wouldn't fit! He may not understand my love for old furniture finds, but deals with it anyway.
I'm really pumped to paint this bad boy a glossy black and reupholster with some punchy fabric! My chair recovering skills are getting pretty good, if I can toot my own horn a little {check here and here for proof}. The other two freebies are housed in the basement til I can figure out what to do with them.
And, I guess I can take the 'Free' sign off of it now, but what can I say, I was proud of my bargain!

Wow amazing! I actually posted today about a chair I found in the garbage as well! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Loved seeing the other two chairs you did. What a pro!
Where is the fabric from in the first chair post? The green fabric. I love it!
Wow you are so lucky, those chairs were just waiting for you and David to drive by. What a wonderful husband, to walk the 3rd chair home for you, Can't wait to see what you have planned for the chair.
Fantastic! Those chairs are going look amazing in a glossy black finish and whatever chic fabric you pick out! Can't wait!
I'm so jealous!! I wish I was creative enough to see the potential in used furniture...I'm slowly getting there, though! Can't wait to see the finished product!
You're amazing...Gotta love the FREE!
nice chairs and i agree with you jo your upholstery skills are good they will turn out great. did you ever paint the other chair??
I've decided you should scope out vintage chairs like these, reupholster/paint them, and open a little shop full of them. And name the store "Have A Seat" or "Toosh" or "Patootie". Just sayin'. =) You have such an eye for these and your creations are fab!
