What's Good In Your Hood {Philadelphia}

Hey guys! I'm back and I survived all of the wedding reception decorating. It was all worth it and the bride and family loved it. I was so happy to put together something they really liked and appreciated. It was a great learning experience for me and I am hoping I get another similar opportunity in the future sometime.

I promised pics, so hang tight, and this week I'll post my handiwork!

Today our agenda includes some craigslisting. We're in Philly today. Let's get to it.

Fun Find: Chiang Mai Tray

Just one thing for today . I saw this at Furbish and clicked "add to cart" faster than one probably should have! Won't one be lovely for jewelry or possibly just sitting solo on a dresser looking pretty?

Photobucket

This tray is just a little piece of that heavenly pattern that I adore. Overplayed or overused? I don't care in the slightest.

Take that Chiang Mai haters.

Break From Our Regulary Scheduled Programing

Hi friends. It's Wednesday and that usually means I'm here with one of my craigslist city posts, however this week has been so crazy busy that it will have to wait until next week. Hope you'll forgive my tardiness.

My schedule has been jam packed lately because, as you know, I was getting ready for the Apartment Therapy House Tour this past weekend {even though they said not worry about cleaning I just couldn't do that}. Then, and this is the biggie that I don't think I've mentioned here yet, but I am pretty much single-handedly decorating a wedding reception this coming weekend. I got the go ahead last weekend {yes, you're reading that right} to buy the entire reception decor and I have been spending every.last.second of my free time working on buying, organizing, creating, and DIYing centerpieces. I'm having a ton of fun but I am exhausted. For reals, like all I think about is when I get to sleep next. I will be SO happy when Saturday comes and goes and I really hope the bride likes what I came up with. It's a little strange because I basically have a set budget and free reign to do whatever I want with it. I'm also so appreciative of my worker bees who are joining me Saturday morning. : )

Wanna see a sneak peek at what I've been working on? Take a gander below...

Again, my photos are from my cell phone pics so you'll have to excuse their quality. I haven't regressed that much. ; )

Photobucket

See those flower arrangements? 3 down, 1 more to go. Making just one of those bad boys takes 3 hours. THREE hours.

I know, right?! Am I a glutton for punishment?

And that's only if two people are working on them! Bless David's little heart for helping me. I've told ya'll before, but that boy's a keeper. {If you're looking for a tutorial, take a trip down memory lane to this post.}

Photobucket

The pine cones you see will eventually be sprayed silver and I am incorporating other types of items later on.

Some of the tables are going to have branch centerpieces that you see below. I told David I was going to get arrested for trespassing Sunday night for snagging branches from the lake by our house. Picture me, traipsing through almost a foot of snow with my clippers, while it was still snowing out, attempting to pick out the perfect branch. It's really just a hoot.

Photobucket

As of right now, the branches are sitting in large restaurant tin cans, wrapped with paper, and filled with sand. My plan for those is to hang the smallest mason jars with tea lights in them, from the branches. Wish me luck. It might take a miracle for this all to come together in the very few hours I have left.

So, in a blogpost, that's my life right now. I still have TONS to do and the clock's ticking. I'll be around here and there, but I promise to be on the ball better next week.

Thanks so much, loves. Oh, and I read all of your comments on the new rug. I love your honesty--you guys rock!

Ch-Ch-Changes...

So I don't think I told you guys, but this weekend our home was photographed for an Apartment Therapy House Tour! Woot-woot. I had once entered a color contest on their website and after it was over, I got an email asking if I would be interested in doing a tour. Heck, yes!

The two ladies that photographed our little space were as sweet as pie and the tour should be on the website in a couple of months. I'll definitely keep all of you updated. After all, I might need some nice comments to outweigh the sometimes very critical and frequently snarky AT commentors!

Anyhoo, once I knew the tour was coming up I, of course, procrastinated and waited until days before to spruce up the space. One of the things I did was add a rug to the office area.

You may remember we once had a rug in there but some dog{s} made it their potty place and it could not be salvaged. You'd think two adult dogs who are "potty trained" would know better, right? That's what I thought. You and I both thought wrong.

Well, back to the rug {and we now keep the office door closed} we purchased! It was an Overstock find and I really fell in love with it at first sight!

Here's the link and online photo:

And here it is in our space {please excuse the craptastic phone photo, I haven't been home during the day to take a decent pic with that gorgeous natural light!}:

Like? Dislike? Do share, friends!

And, stay tuned...the office isn't the only thing that I changed up! ; )

What's Good In Your Hood {Greenville, SC}

Well, well...this is supposed to be a full work week, let's see if the weather let's us have it! I haven't worked an entire week since 2010! Hopefully I can make it through this one; the snow days are really spoiling me.

Today we're deal hunting in the great state of South Carolina. Let's get to it!

What's Good In Your Hood {Oahu}

Happy hump day, folks. It looks like we've made it to the middle of the week and it's a possibility that we may get some substantial snow tonight. It's also going to get really cold by Friday so who knows how much school I'm looking at for the end of the week. Time will tell...

I DO know that I'd l-o-v-e to be in Hawaii right now! Oahu is actually where my mom, maw maw, and I are going to rendezvous in the summertime. Aloooooha!
