Ok friends! I am excited to share that maw maw, my mom, and I are about to embark on a little vaca to Las Vegas!

I am super excited but a bit overwhelmed. There is so much to do and see and I'm not sure where to start. I do know that we're staying at The Mirage and that we're going to see Garth Brooks {SUPER excited about that part}!!!! Yeehaw!

So tell me...have any of you ever been? If so, what do you recommend? We're pretty much up for anything {within reason! ; ) }

Ready. Set. Go with those recommendations! I'm all ears!

That's awesome! I'm leaving in 30 days to date for Vegas to and I can't wait. I've read about tons of restaurants that are spectacular but quite expensive so be sure to check out Buffet of Buffets. You can read it about it online! I definitely recommend seeing a Cirque du Soilel show, especially "O", it's amazing! HAVE FUN!!!

You must visit the M&M store - you can pick M&M's in ANY color of the rainbow! It's so fun and so yummy!

Yes! We went there on our honeymoon & it was a lot of fun.

My number one tip is to wear COMFORTABLE shoes!! It doesn't take long to rack up the miles! I'm not sure how long you'll be there, but buying a three-day monorail pass is a good investment.

The Mirage is a really nice hotel!

We went to the Shark Reef - which was huge and fun!

The Burger Bar is also an awesome restaurant.

I second Lynett - O is a must. Really. It was my favorite part of my trip to Vegas!

Hi, I'm a french Canadian and I have been there 3 times. There's a nice restaurant at the Paris hotel ''Mon ami Gabi'' you can see the menu online. We always made reservations to eat on the patio at night and it's just in front of the Bellagio Fountains. Nice view!! Also I suggest to buy the bus pass cause you will need it a lot (The Deuce)Dont miss the old vegas! There's so much to do; our favorite show was KÀ but they are all good! There's a shopping mall in the Planet Hollywood but there's also the Fashion Show mall not far from the mirage. In the Venetian theres the Canal shop - the ceiling are fantastic - looks like a sky (in the Paris too - both are connected) and there are boat inside the hotel (Gondole - I don't know if it's the same word in english)... I just can't stop but I have too!!! :) Enjoy your trip!!

....and don't forget to ask for deals if you buy tickets for shows. Often the offer a free meal or sometimes when you have the casino players card you can have your ticket half price. At the MGM for ''O'' you had half price just because we sign for their free players card! Dont be shy to ask!

this is my friend's favorite place in the whole world. She says the worst thing you can do is wear high heels and walk in them all night long!

Ah Las Vegas. Love that place.

Okay.. you must go to Mesa Grill. Bobby Flay's restaurant. Please go for lunch, prices are cheaper. (Cesar's Palace)

There are so many other celebrity chef restaurants that you should check out as well - wich'craft is a very good sandwich shop at MGM, by Tom Coochilio (spelling? That chef on Top Chef)

Another vote for KA, the show. But I haven't seen O, and I hear its the best one.

Play blackjack and enjoy free beer!

Definitely eat one night at the Bellagio buffet. A bit pricey at $29.95...but soooo worth it! Delicious quality food! I am drooling just thinking about it!

LIke pp stated, you have to see a Cirque show. I saw Mystere at Treasure Island, but I'm dying to see one of the water ones, especially "O" at the Bellagio.

Have fun, can't wait to see pics!

Fun! I'm going with some girls in August...staying at my in-laws condo in Henderson, but definitely hitting up the strip during the weekend. Can't wait to hear about it!

do NOT try to walk from hotel to hotel (the new ones) They SEEM close, but they really are a mirage! hahah, they are really far apart! (down by the one that is a pyramid) it's been a while, I forget their names.
garth? whoa! that's awesome! You're going to have a blast! I need a trip with my baby girl. :(

Fun! We went for our honeymoon... You can see the post I did about it here: http://hearttreehome.com/2011/06/24/what-happens-in-vegas/

It was super fun just to walk up and down the strip, looking at the decor in all the different hotels. Our favorite buffet by far was the Paris buffet... we went for dinner one night and then breakfast the next morning! {Breakfast was the best.)

Ironically, our favorite part was doing the things around the strip like Red Rock Canyon and the Grand Canyon. If you will be there for more than a few days, I'd definitely recommend making a day trip to those places!

Have fun!

I like it, I love it! said...

Oh fun! We just went this past January for the first time and had a blast. All my vacay's revolove around food so I would say Mesa Grill is a must go and I loved Olive's too. The salmon literally melted in my mouth! Margaritaville is a great place to have lunch and sit on the patio and people watch. Great margaritas too! "O" show is awesome and Ceasar's Palace shopping is fun. They have a H&M and it was 3 stories!! Hope you girls have a blast!!

I LOVE Vegas and have been going there for years. My personal favorite cirq show is O...totally amazing, however, if you love The Beatles...their show "LOVE" is incredible. The restaurant we try to hit each time we go is Mesa Grill at Cesars Palace (Bobby Flay)...the roasted corn is DELISH! The Bellagio breakfast buffet is also super yummy! Really...if it's your first time there...just wandering through the casinos and checking them out is pretty cool....Have a blast!

Ahh! We are going this weekend- Saturday to Wed, so much fun.
1. Comfy shoes. Walk everywhere you can and just take it all in- there is so much to see, but everything is ginormous so even though it looks close its not- but still worth the walks!
2. Go down town to see the light show, but take a cab.
3. SUSHI SAMBA at Palazzo. A little pricey but the best meal of your life. Get the mojito or a mango habanero margarita. http://www.sushisamba.com/
4. Piano bar at NYNY.
5. Anything Bellagio- fountains, gardens, art gallery. <3. HAVE FUN!!

Ah! I actually got to see Garth in Vegas at his first show back in December 09! It. Is. Amazing. You will love it. The Wynn is excellent - the drinks at Parasol Up/Parasol Down are very good. I'd also recommend just walking the strip and seeing all the casinos. Have fun - I can't wait to see your post about the concert!
