The rain was a steady annoyance but it could not put a damper on my giddiness { <---- is that a real word?}! David, Anna, and I trekked through the puddles and removed & replaced our little surgical booties with the rest of the people.
We got to tour 6 homes that line the couple mile strip. The homes had ginormous chandeliers, bathrooms bigger than our bedroom, butler's pantries, in ground pools with pool houses, horse stables, cigar rooms, and gorgeous fixtures everywhere. While many homes let us tour the upstairs, many did not. Some people joked that's where all the junk was. ; )
I wasn't 100% sure of the picture taking policy {because there were no signs posted or reference to it in the brochure} so I took these on the sly.
Sorry for the phone quality; these are just a couple images that caught my eye!
Oh, and I got a HUGE kick in this house when I saw the magazine with our dining room on the cover in their master bedroom! It was too funny. : )

How fun!! Hubs and I love to go on house tours :) these mansions look amazing! Love that white kitchen and dining room:)
Joi - that is so darn cool that you spotted your dining room in a mansion. Love it!
I'm also loving the faucet in that kitchen and the peacock blue walls. I need to use that color somewhere in my home.
PS - when I was in school, we'd sometimes go down there and just walk through the neighborhoods. Love those homes.
I am so bummed I missed it!! I work at the History Museum, so my favorite thing is walking the park at lunch and just oogling my favorite houses.
Thanks for letting me come along on the adventure...and for posting all of the pics with my dumb pants rolled up like a weirdo! :)
Hi, I also live in St. Louis and have been dying to look through any and all houses along Forest Park. How did you hear about the home tour? Do you know if they happen more than once a year?
LOVE that you spotted your magazine cover! And pretty sure I need those circle-backed dining chairs in my life!!!! Good job on your stealth photo skills!
