Ethan's Nursery

Update: Cori answered all of your source questions via the comment form...check them out! Thanks, Cor! : )

If you read my post on Tuesday, you already know that I was in Indy this weekend for a good friend's baby shower. Cori and I area a lot alike and both really like to decorate our homes {as if you couldn't tell...}! There have been many times where we have wished we lived closer to grab a bite to eat and shop our hearts out. I knew when she announced her pregnancy that her little baby would have a stylish place to call his own. When she found out it was a boy, she really got the ball rolling. Her color palette is based on grays, whites, and muted blues and greens. A few weeks ago she sent me a phone photo of the progress and it made me soooo excited to see it in person. The vibe was cool, not fussy, and totally modern. But enough babbling from me, I'll let the photos do the talking.

{And, yes...Cori knows those magnets will come down when E is big enough to reach up for them}

Possibly the cutest and best stroller ever...I was so excited when she told me she got this! I love it!

And last but not least, I bought Cori the most adorable little owl from Pier 1 of all places, and she sent me a text this weekend to show me his spot. It looks like he was made for the room!

This nursery is sooo cute it made my ovaries skip a beat! :) Seriously: LOVE.
I'm wondering about the dresser and the shelves. I'm also curious about that screen in the corner behind the giant stuffed dog. Did they manage to sneak some parent-pleasing technology into that gorgeous space?

Thanks for sharing this room.

Great idea to have a chalkboard wall behind the crib! Love the nook w/ the awesome grey chair, darling nursery! Where is the 'make mudpies' pic from?

The glider is from Jennifer Delonge.  I spent months researching the perfect glider.  Although it’s expensive, I decided on a piece that I could transition into the house after the baby outgrows it.  Monte Design has a similar glider but I didn’t like that the bottom gliding bars were visible.  Plus, the Jennifer Delonge is taller and swivels.  You can purchase it on her website or places like Fawn & Forest, who offer free shipping.

The book shelves are Jennifer Delonge-inspired.  She charges $59 per shelf so my husband bought some wood, painted it white and re-created with the same dimensions she provides online for about $20 for two.

The poster above the crib is from the seller Wordology on Etsy.  I saw something similar online that was pricey so I researched Etsy to do a custom order.  I gave her the words I wanted, the font, colors, etc.  She emailed me a pdf for $25 and then I had someone locally print it just on regular photo paper in the size I needed.  The frame is from Ikea so I needed a larger size printed.  If you want the same wording, my username is corilee83 in case she has the history saved of what she created.

The owl sheets are by Dwell Studio and you can find them online.  I just bought the sheet since there are differing reports about crib bumpers these days.  I wasn’t very interested in a crib skirt either so I just placed storage bins under the crib to hold toys.

The dresser is from Ikea and came with the white knobs.  It is actually pretty heavy for being Ikea!

The black screen in the corner is just an Iphone/Ipod/radio/cd player.  I figured I could use it for lullaby cds, books on tape, etc.

The stroller is by Uppababy.  It is definitely an investment but after speaking with many moms, the consensus is that buying one good stroller in the beginning is worth it instead of buying a few cheaper strollers along the way.  I purchased it at Giggle in Chicago.  You can do SO much with it and I think there are even demo videos online.  I have the Chicco Keyfit carseat that is compatible with this stroller.

And yes, we get the “are you two sisters?” often!  Joi is truly the kindest person I know and is an amazing decorator.  Having her stamp of approval means everything to me!

This looks like such a fun room. A very lucky baby. My birthday is May 23 too. Great time of year to have a birthday : )

Cori, congratulations! I'd love to know where you got the chandelier; it's gorg and kinda resembles the one Joi posted a while back from Troy lighting that was like $46,729. Thanks in advance!

Sure that's not your twin? What a cute nursery! That magnetic wall looks like a whole bunch-a-fun!

Anon, the pendant is the Lazy Susan Drum Oval Ring Lamp in White. I purchased it from the Amazon marketplace as "gently used" for around $100 but thankfully it looked brand new to me!

That is a super duper cute nursery! Although I love the chalkboard wall a ton, I'd say the dresser/changing station with round mirror and lamp is my favorite. Just gorgeous!

CUTE!! I like the gray dresser from IKEA used in that way, with the changing pad on top.

Hi hi! Looks so cute-- where did you find that lighting fixture?

This is so cool and fun! I love it all. You two have lots of talent between the two of you.

I'm really taken by the shelves. I want some in my lving room for all our books and magazines. I think I'm adding that to the honey do list.

This is gorgeous! I love the chalkboard wall.

I was curious: what's the gray paint color? We just had a serious gray paint mishap (it looks purple!) so I'm on the hunt for something else, and I love that color!
