Update on D + Cross That One Off My Wishlist

First, I want to say "thank you!" for all of your comments about David on yesterday's blog post. This blogging kinship we all have sure is something special. Dave was still feeling sick yesterday so we decided to go to the doctor. She is concerned because of the chest pains he experienced this past summer coupled with his low blood pressure and heart rate.

His doctor referred him to a cardiologist for some more tests and hopefully, more answers. His appointment is next Wednesday and I promise to keep everyone updated. Thanks again, for your concern. It means the world to us. He's still feeling a bit "off" {if that makes any sense} and I am keeping a watchful eye on him.

On to part two of this little post! I am happy to say that I crossed an item off of my wishlist yesterday before David had his little incident. I finally bought an arc lamp!

Remember my inspiration pic?

Yeah, it had me drooling too. : )

I have been debating since summer on where to buy it from and which brand to go with. I had finally made up my mind to buy the CSN Lighting version when I got word that they were being sold at La Z Boy Furniture.

As most of you know {and are probably tired of hearing about!}, I am in a contest on Stlmag.com for best "Living Space of the Year" in St. Louis. Woot-woot! When the judges came to my home one of the ladies gave me the lowdown that arc lamps were available at La Z Boy. Score! I could save money and time not having to worry about shipping estimates and costs. Sign me up!

So the other night D and I headed to the Illinois store and hunted it down. I left empty handed because they only had a satin nickel version and I had my heart set on a chrome finish one. I called around and found a store in South County that claimed that had chrome. After school, Maw Maw, my Mom, and I made the trip over to the store to pick it up. When I got to there, all they had was the satin nickel-- no chrome anywhere to be found, not even by special order. Major bummer.

However, the more I inspected the one they did have, the more it appeared to have a shiny finish. I decided I didn't care what the tag said, and I was sold and it came home with me on the spot. I put that bad boy together all by myself and now I am one content chica to have it in our living room.

It looks shiny, right? I'm not crazy.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Ooooo-weeee that is nice! I can see why they had it labeled satin, but it is more shiny than a typical satin. Great buy!
