Are you tired of my bamboo obsession yet? I hope not! This time my bamboo finds come straight from my dad's garage!
These frames were my grandma's and they were just sitting in a box waiting to come home with me. You see, I don't know if I've talked about this on the blog before, but I'm 1/4 Asian. You would've never guessed it, right?
That's what I thought.
My dad's mom was Japanese and my grandpa met her during WWII. They moved over here shortly after that war and had 4 children.
My grandma died suddenly about 6 years ago and I miss her all the time. She was one of the funniest people I ever met {even though she never knew just how funny she was!}, hands down the best sweet tea maker, a great deal finder, and simply put--a kind soul.
Love you, Grandma Teiko! ♥

Aww.. She was so beautiful!
Such a sweet post... your grandma was beautiful. I think the funniest people are those who don't know how funny they really are. <3
i love the bamboo-and especially because it has sentimental value:) your grandma sounds like she was a wonderful lady~
Awww, joi, joi! I always thought you were beautiful, but never would have guessed hapa! ;)
She was a magnificent lady, I can just tell. What a life they must have had together.
I challenge people to find anyone more darling than a little old Asian grammy. =] She was absolutely beautiful. You TOTALLY take after her!
What a beautiful lady. Love those old photos, Joi. Looks like a wonderful person.
Ahh what a sweet story, she was a knockout!
Love this post--so sweet! How great to find such treasures in your dad's garage! Any plans for where to put them?
