So as you might have guessed, my super sweet and handy father-in-law took less than 48 hours to agree to, plan, and build an exact replica of this beauty of an island for our kitchen. Word on the street is that their island came from IKEA. Ours has been crafted with love with lumber from Lowe's. David and I were pretty good helpers and I'm happy to report that I took part in cutting, drilling, and sanding!
It's sitting in our kitchen waiting to be painted and stained as we speak {after this busy week ends}!!! I am truly such a

yep, i just bought the one from ikea. it's a perfect fit. Now I just need to decide what color to paint it. What color are you thinking of?

I have this same picture saved in my inspiration folder! I plan on doing something similar for our kitchen this summer. I will probably buy mine from IKEA and paint it. Your so lucky to have a carpenter in the family! :-)
