Take A Seat

I'm back with yet another paint and reupholster chair project. This fine project came to light when I scored three free chairs on the side of the road!

They were practically begging to come home with me and I am so glad I decided to make room for them in our little house!

I went back and forth with what color I would paint the first one. I originally had decided white, then I changed my mind to black, and at the last minute I decided to go with a light robin's egg blue.

And at a total surprise, I decided to forgo my original Amy Butler favs and went with an unexpected black and white stripe motif.

I pretty much wasted no time Sunday night getting down to business. First I had to unscrew the bottom of the cushion which came undone super easily!

Then I had to use some wood glue to bond the top of the chair that had come unattached. And, I'm happy to report that getting it to stay together was easy peasy!

After I checked that the cushion was in decent shape, I decided to just use a white liner as a starter base and then I attached the black and white striped fabric to the top. I was super stoked to use my new powershot staple gun--who would've ever thought?!? ; )

To prep the chair for spray painting I did very minimal sanding. Almost not even worth my time! Then it took about 10 minutes to cover her up and she was done. After I let it dry, I reattached the cushion to the chair...and voila a new beauty was born in about 2 hours total time!
