Paint It Black Pink

I love pink--aren't there only a handful of girls in the world who don't love it? However, our home is pretty neutral and cozy, we have lots of grays, taupes, creams, and browns in our color palette. I know many people think that your whole home should flow from room to room and I usually agree. However, our office is more of a whimsy, fun color palette and is a break from the rest of our home's vibe.

The room is fun and colorful and I really like it. It's one of those rooms {as I'm sure many of you have} that feels so good and then you take a picture and you're like, "I swear that's not the same room I see when I look at it!" So, in my quest to make things look perfect, I am constantly updating this room {along with all of our other rooms!}. I believe that you can't really consider decorating a hobby if you don't always do it! : ) Thus, to keep my hobby going, I must always be updating/evolving/perfecting all my rooms and my skills! Ha!

Anyhoo--let's get back to pink! I spotted this chandelier at PB Teen and have had my eye on it for quite sometime. It was originally $200 and I couldn't bring myself to bite the bullet. Then it went on sale {and still is} for $169. Again, I stalled.

But, don't fret...I decided to save major moolah and paint an inexpensive chandelier from Home Depot to mimic the PB Teen one.

So, off to Home Depot I went this Saturday. I spotted the perfect replica, and to my amusement, it was only $40 bones--yippee! I then headed to the spray paint aisle and picked the perfect shade of pick-me-up pink labeled "berry pink".

Today I assembled the chandelier and sprayed it out in the garage. Later, my sweet husband hung it for me.

I switched out the lights it came with to give it more of a funky-modern twist.

I must thank the lovely John and Sherry, yet again, for inspiring this fun twist with their former dining room light which you can see here.

Our end product came out just as deliciously as I ever could've hoped--even Dave though it looks better than the PB teen one! All in all the project cost less than $50! That's less than a 1/3 of the discounted PB one!

Before--with the kiddie fan from the previous owners! Sorry for the bad quality/lopsided photo!

After with the punchy pink chandelier!

Love it!! What a great color and BTW, what a great idea using toilet making rolls to cover up the candle sleeves. Taping sucks!! Thanks for sharing:)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the chandelier. I am sooo jealous, as my hubby would protest to no end if I even suggested it. He drew the line at the eggplant-colored couches. I'm also digging the rug in your office.

So I would be one of those handful of girls, but I can still appreciate your handiwork and the punch of pop it gives the room!

Ok, I will admit I was very wary of that pink, but now that I see it irl, I absolutely love it! It's perfect!

I am SOOOO in love with what you did w/ this chandelier, Joi!! Even better than the PB one IMO.
I'm looking around my house trying to figure out where I can put a pink light!!

And I am so loving your office. The soft gray is gorgeous, the rug is fab. I just might marry this room, I'm so in love =)
