2nd day with kids down, too many days to count to go! To say I am tired would be the understatement of the year. I am exhausted just thinking about school and everything I have to do. On a super positive note, I am loving being back at my alma mater and people have been extremely welcoming and helpful. I got cheers when I was announced as a new teacher {blush} and we sang the school fight song on the first day {totally up my alley no matter how dorky the rest of you think it is}. It's a slightly eerie feeling being back in the building I was a student in only 8 years ago, however, not as much as I had thought it would be. I miss my old co-workers, who happen to be some of the best friends a girl could ask for, like flippin' crazy. Even with all three of my new class preps {new books, new curriculum, new everything}, and driving an extra 8 minutes to work {on top of already driving 30}, and learning a whole new environment---it's the people that make me most miss Edwardsville. I heart you, M and J!
So this post is short and sweet--I'm going to go eat some dinner, watch some Olympics, and hit up the internet to learn about my buddy Miguel de Cervantes. Interesting, no? ;-) I can almost feel your jealousy! Hehe...

M misses you too girl.... and I haven't even started yet :( As far as Miguel de Cervantes....no I'm not jealous, although I think he's interesting. You should def. show the movie after the book....
I just visited the rival high school in the district I graduated from. The building and layout is exactly the same as my high school, so it was a weird feeling to be there. But I also felt so instantly at home at the same time. I'm envious of the experiences you're about to have...I think it will be such a great experience to give back to your alma matter.
Melissa-I'm definitely showing the movie! : )
Michael-I'm super excited to give back to my community that helped shape my life--sappy, but true!
J misses you too! :( Do you want to do dinner with M and J on Saturday? I will probably get back to E-ville around 4 or 5 p.m. I will go eat anywhere except La Fonda and 54th street. You can debrief about the week and we can get our Joi fix before the new year begins!
I hear you about being exhausted! This first week has been tough! Miss you girl!
Wow, I can just imagine what singing the fight song would be like as an employee. Surreal. Have fun and I hope you start having great connections with your new coworkers!
I don't even know the words to my alma mater's fight song... how embarassing!
I taught at my old school as well! A lot of the same teachers were there and I loved it! I'm so happy that you are having such a great time.
