Shower Me With Curtains

I need neither one of these lovelies {found here and here}. However, I want both of these lovelies.

Who cares that the combined cost of two shower curtains is over $120...right? ; ) Crazy... just maybe!

Home Sweet Home

I am in love with my new Etsy print from Two Poodle Prints!!! It looks great in the perfect square frame from Crate and Barrel {which was sorta free since we bought it on a gift card} and now resides on the photo wall in the living room.

Her prices really can't be beat--please check out her site! : )

Park It!

Before the engagement festivities took place on this past Sunday, David and I took a stroll down to the park in our hometown, only a block away from my in-laws. Besides our families and some friends, this is the the thing I miss the most about living here!

A Pregnancy And Engagement!

Meet Emily and Tim, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law to be! : )

Fun story ahead, folks---and no...the pregnancy did not lead to the engagement ; )! A little more than a week ago my sister-in-law's boyfriend contacted me and David. He had the engagement ring and was set to propose to my sweet sister-in-law, Emily. He wanted our help in coming up with a plan to totally surprise Emily! Well, along with Em's best friends, Debra and Lynn, and the help of David and me, and of course Tim...we concocted the perfect little plan. Em is a sneaky one and knew of the ring--so the story, and plan, had to be a clever one to catch her off guard.

We decided to take the attention off of her, and pull a fast one, and came up with a plan to tell Em that David and I were pregnant and that we wanted her to arrange a dinner for us to surprise Dan and Carol {my in-laws}. We made sure Em would set this dinner up as a 'welcome home' dinner for Tim. You see, Tim is in the Marines and he was setting all of this up via text messaging from California! He was only going to be in town for a little while before he heads overseas, so we all had to act fast!

With the best laid out plans and pregnancy story, David called Em and she bought it! She was so excited to be an aunt...but had no idea she would actually be proposed to at the same dinner she was planning!

Fast forward to today, we all met for dinner at Maggiano's and David acts like he has to make an announcement!

He tells his parents that I'm pregnant and they react perfectly! Carol puts on her best surprised face and gets up to give me a hug and Dan just looks stunned!

Then the plan gets put into action for real...to get the ring to Tim {which Tim had already passed off to David as part of the plan the previous day}, David says we have ultrasound pics and that everyone should look at them. To Emily's surprise, no such pictures exist! Instead, inside the envelope, is one pretty engagement ring! Once Tim gets the envelope the rest is history...and oh yeah...she said yes!

From here on out I'll let the pictures do the talking! : )

Her bling!

The newly engaged couple along with the happy parents {and Tim's in laws}!

Of course, Em had to contact all of her besties...and update facebook! Necessities, I tell you!

And with the help of a little dessert, this night would be complete! Gotta love David and his fancy vanilla ice cream topped with Hershey's syrup!

Thanks, Maggiano's, for a fabulous atmosphere and setting. This night will be unforgettable for all of us...

but most especially for these two, the cutest newly engaged couple around! ♥

Welcome Back, Sun. It's Been Awhile.

Yup, I'm still loving my camera, just in case you were wondering. Sorry if you're getting tired of my random shots. The sun finally came out and I took advantage of it by heading down to the small lake in our neighborhood on Wednesday.

I am still working on my aperture settings...and loving every minute of it! : )

Oh, and I kinda felt a little like a stalker paparazzi because I was entangled in some trees and bushes snapping away when across the lake I saw some fishermen. I'm positive they thought I was crazy-hehe!

I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend and getting out and about with my camera at some spots I have in mind. {Mom, you wanna join me?}

Take A Seat

I'm back with yet another paint and reupholster chair project. This fine project came to light when I scored three free chairs on the side of the road!

They were practically begging to come home with me and I am so glad I decided to make room for them in our little house!

I went back and forth with what color I would paint the first one. I originally had decided white, then I changed my mind to black, and at the last minute I decided to go with a light robin's egg blue.

And at a total surprise, I decided to forgo my original Amy Butler favs and went with an unexpected black and white stripe motif.

I pretty much wasted no time Sunday night getting down to business. First I had to unscrew the bottom of the cushion which came undone super easily!

Then I had to use some wood glue to bond the top of the chair that had come unattached. And, I'm happy to report that getting it to stay together was easy peasy!

After I checked that the cushion was in decent shape, I decided to just use a white liner as a starter base and then I attached the black and white striped fabric to the top. I was super stoked to use my new powershot staple gun--who would've ever thought?!? ; )

To prep the chair for spray painting I did very minimal sanding. Almost not even worth my time! Then it took about 10 minutes to cover her up and she was done. After I let it dry, I reattached the cushion to the chair...and voila a new beauty was born in about 2 hours total time!

{Camera} Bag Lady

I'm on the search for a stylish yet functional camera bag. I want something that is ergonomically designed so that it isn't all clunky when I'm lugging it around {especially in Spain this summer}! I really want a bag that is primarily for camera storage and not just a big purse because I want my camera to be as safe and sound as possible!

I've found extremely few sites that cater to women in regards to camera bag style {what's up with that?!?}. This first bag I came across was lovely, but too pricey for me. While Jessica Claire makes a pretty sweet shoot sac, my bank account can't handle her price tag {no offense to JC, her pics are amaaazing!}.

Then one of my buddies over at DecorPad directed me to Tracy Joy and I fell in love with her Kristine bag. It's compact, but not clunky, and totally girly---perfect! Best part, the price isn't outrageously expensive either. Score one for me!

My only problem is picking out a fabric. So far, I've narrowed it down to either the classic black and white damask...

...or Amy Butler's Gothic Rose in Burgundy.

Help this indecisive girl out, por favor. Tell me which one you fancy. Or tell me that you're not a fan of either! No matter what your opinion may be ...I ♥ your comments : ).

Medallion Winner

I am so excited about a photo I came across this past weekend. How About Orange's blog showcased this photo and post not too long ago.

Isn't the idea of hanging ceiling medallions as artwork absolutely fabulous? I am in love with the photo on the right! This project has pretty much jumped up to the very top of my ever growing and never ending to-do list.

As I searched the web I found that these medallions can be quite pricey, so I am definitely going to find the cheapest yet most interesting ones before I purchase.

And, I can't wait to arrange them very similarly as the photo does above, right over our tv console {which no longer has the artwork that you see in the pic below, above it}!
